Description
CORPUS CHRISTI Probably southern Germany or Italy, 19th century. Bronze, silver-plated, hollow cast, nail marks, upper body hollowed out at the back. H. 26, W. 16, D. 5 cm, weight approx. 1 kg. Numbered '5' on the back of the thigh. Expressive Corpus Christi in the three-nail type with arms spread wide, in a painful posture. Partial loss of patina and minor traces of oxidation. Provenance: Private collection, Hesse.
