VIENNESE SCULPTOR Active in the 20th century COLLECTION OF NINE SMALL FROG FIGURES: 'LEISURE TIME' Viennese bronze, polychrome finish. Heights ranging from 2 to 5 cm. Some marked 'FBW' (Fritz Bermann Wien). Nine humorously designed frogs depicted in various everyday scenes and leisure activities. The figures include a frog with a school blackboard, a frog with a swim ring, a smoking frog leaning against a bottle, two frogs on a ladder (one with an accordion, the other with sheet music), a frog holding a heart, two frogs playing cards, three frogs on a leaf with sheet music, and two pairs of frogs in an intimate embrace. Partially bumped and rubbed, loss of patina. Provenance: Private collection, Rhineland.
