FRENCH SCULPTOR Active early 20th century 'LAMENTING VENUS' Bronze, dark patina, on a rectangular plinth and tall marble base (H. 10 cm). Total H. 34, W. 9.5, D. 6.5 cm; weight approx. 1.82 kg. Unsigned; an identical version exists by 'Cartinet'. Female nude in the classical style depicting a lamenting Venus with raised arms. Minor nicks and loss of patina; casting crack on the lower part of one leg.
