EMIL PINEDO 1840 Paris - 1916 ibid. YOUNG MAN WITH PANTHER AND STAFF Bronze, brown patina, on naturalistic plinth. H. 24, W. 16, D. 11 cm, weight approx. 2.23 kg. Marked 'Pinedo' on the side, marked 'Bronze Garanti Au Titre Paris' on the back. Depiction of a standing youth, probably Dionysus, with a panther, the god's iconographic companion animal, nestled at his feet. Partial loss of patina, panther repaired on the back. Provenance: Private collection, Hesse.
