GERMAN SCULPTOR Active 19th/20th century WOMAN IN TRADITIONAL COSTUME 1888 Bronze, brown patina, on a naturalistic plinth and round base. Total height 36 cm, width 13 cm, depth 14 cm; weight approx. 3.34 kg. Signed 'Bremd?' and dated 1888 on the back; foundry mark 'P. Stotz' (Paul Stotz, 1850-1897) on the side. Fully modeled figure of a young woman in traditional costume, wearing a gathered apron and carrying an umbrella and a basket under her arm. Areas of rubbing and loss of patina; min. bumped.
