Signed 'Henri Plé' on the plinth, inscribed 'David Vainquer Salon de Beaux Arts' on the front, foundry mark 'Société des bronzes de Paris' on the verso, monogrammed 'J.B.'. Full plate depiction of standing David, shown as a youth clothed in loincloth and headscarf, leaning on his sword, at his feet the severed head of the giant Goliath.
