CLAIRE JEANNE ROBERTE COLINET 1880 Brussels - 1950 Asnières-sur-Seine 'DANSEUSE D'ANKARA' (DANCER) Bronze with brown patina, mounted on an integral plinth and a round marble base (H. 3.5 cm). Total height 49.5 cm, diameter 18 cm, weight approx. 7.69 kg. Inscribed 'C.J.R. Colinet' on the back of the plinth. A fully modeled figure of an Oriental dancer captured in an expressive pose, leaning far back. The semi-clad, barefoot figure wears elaborate body jewelry and an Oriental-style garment. Part. bumped and rubbed, loss of paint.
