DAVID HENRI JOSEPH DUCOMMUN DE LOCLE 1804 - 1884 (after) 'CLEOPATRA COUCHÉE' (RECLINING CLEOPATRA) Bronze, dark patina, on plinth. H. 34, l. 60, d. 24 cm, weight approx. 19,44kg. Foundry mark on the reverse 'F. Bardedienne Fondeur' on the reverse. Fully sculpted depiction of the reclining Egyptian queen Cleopatra, half-dressed, lying on a cushioned divan, her right arm wrapped with a snake resting on a basket of flowers. Part bumped and rubbed, loss of patina, verso slightly bumped, one arm rest.
