TWO NETSUKE OF SHISHI Japan Wood/Walrus tusk. H. 2.7-3 cm. Including a lacquered wood netsuke of a seated shishi with inlaid eyes, one hand holding a small ball, with its mouth open and a movable ball inside, and a walrus tusk netsuke of a shishi curled into a ball, with its mouth open and a movable ball inside. With traces of use and age, partially abraded and slightly cracked.
