Description
TWO BUDDHIST PAINTINGS Thailand, 18th century or later Ink and color on silk, framed and under glass. Visible size 78x52.5-100x85 cm (84x58.3-106.5x91 cm with frame). The larger piece is painted with Buddha Shakyamuni in a shrine flanked by attendants in a worshiping posture. The smaller one is designed with Mahasiddha and various Thai characters and buddhist patterns. With traces of use and age, partially damaged. Provenance: From a private collection in Düsseldorf, acquired in the second half of 20th century.
