A COPPER-ALLOY RITUAL BELL (GHANTA) Tibet Copper alloy. H. 19 cm. The body is decorated in relief with eight seed syllables, vajra bands, and Kirtimukha garlands. The handle is formed as the head of Prajnaparamita, the embodiment of perfected wisdom. With traces of age and use, partially abraded, with the clapper missing. Provenance: From a private collection in North Rhine-Westphalia.
