A BRONZE 'FOREIGNER' INCENSE HOLDER China, late Ming Dynasty Bronze. H. 17.4 cm. The incense holder is cast in the form of a foreigner holding a lotus leaf and riding on a buddhist lion stepping on a ribboned brocade ball, together on a rectangular base. With traces of age, partially damaged. Provenance: From an old private collection in North Rhine-Westphalia.
