A THANGKA DEPICTING MAHOTTARA HERUKA (CHEMCHOG) China (Tibet), 18th/19th century Distemper on cloth, mounted. 26x20 cm (70x46 cm overall with mounting). The thangka is finely painted with Chemchog Heruka and his consort, surrounded by flames and clouds. Tibetan inscriptions appear beneath the figures, and the reverse is inscribed with the sacred syllables "Om, Ah, Hum" behind the central deity. With traces of age, partially creased and with loss of colors.
