A THANGKA DEPICTING WHITE TARA China (Tibet), probably 19th century Distemper on cloth, mounted. 38x26 cm (45.5x72 overall with mounting). The White Tara is seated in dhyanasana on a lotus base. Her right hand is in the gesture of granting wishes (varadamudra), while her left hand is in the gesture of teaching or discussion (vitarkamudra). Amitayus is depicted above her. With traces of age, partially abraded and with loss of colors.
