A RARE QIANJIANG-ENAMELED 'SCHOLAR' RETICULATED BASKET WITH DISH China, late Qing Dynasty Porcelain. L. 26.5-28.5 cm. Both are finely painted with a scholar standing beside the attendant in a landscape, the basket with "Four Gentlemen" flowers and the dish floral band at the rim. With traces of use, partially cracked. Provenance: From a North German private collection, acquired in the art market in Scandinavia.
