A CELADON AND RUSSET JADE 'PHOENIX' BRUSHPOT AND COVER China, Qing Dynasty Jade. H. 13.9 cm. The cover and base of the pot are both carved in the form of lotus petals, while the body is decorated in relief with phoenix motifs. The lid features openwork decoration centered around the character 'shou' (longevity). With traces of age and use, and minor cracks on the footrim. Provenance: From an old private collection in the Lower Rhine region (Niederrhein).
