Description
A PAIR OF INLAID SILVER 'BUDDHIST LION' CENSERS China, probably early 20th century Silver. H. 20.4 cm, 2273g. The censers are modelled as Buddhist lion standing on four feet with head raised. The body is covered with wave patterns and embellished with coral and mother of pearl inlays as well as gilt flame patterns. With traces of use, partially damaged and missing inlays. Provenance: From an old private collection in North Rhine-Westphalia, acquired around the 1960s in China.
