A PAIR OF FAMILLE ROSE 'EIGHT IMMORTALS' SQUARE-SECTION CUPS China, late Qing Dynasty Porcelain. H. 6.3 cm. The pair of cups are finely painted on four tapered sides with the Eight Immortals holding their attributes and standing in various poses. The countersunk base is inscribed with an iron-red mark 'Da Qing Qianlong Nianzhi'. The interior is covered with turquoise glaze. With traces of use. Provenance: From an old private collection in the Lower Rhine region (Niederrhein).
