AN OTTOMAN SILVER WRITING SET Turkey, around 1800 Silver, partially probably gilt. L. 29 cm; Weight 368 g. The set comprises a rectangular, elongated case with ornamented end pieces and a screwed-on, octagonal inkwell, slightly bulging in the middle, decorated with continuous ornament bands, an oval lid on decorative hinges, and vegetal motifs on the underside.
