AN OTTOMAN GOLD DAMASCENED-STEEL YATAGHAN Turkey, AH 1233/AD 1817 Steel/walrus tusk. L. 71.5 cm. The sword is decorated with Koranic writings in a cartouche on one side and floral motifs on the blade and has a hilt made of walrus tusk. The sword is dated "AH 1233" and signed "Amal Al Ahmad". With traces of use, partially abraded and chipped.
