A WOOD OKIMONO OF A HUMAN FIGURE Japan, 19th century Wood. H. 7.5 cm. The okimono is carved as a man with inlaid eyes, bound hand and foot to a bundle of firewood, his eyes wide open and head tilted back, with a snake coiled below. With traces of age and use, partially abraded.
