A WOOD NETSUKE OF ONI Japan, 19th century Wood. H. 2.8 cm. The netsuke is carved as an oni sitting on rocks, with black lacquer spots applied to the surface of the rocks. Signed 'Hoichi' with kao in an inlaid rectangular reserve on the bottom. With traces of age and use, partially abraded.
