AN IVORY NETSUKE OF A SHISHI WITH BALL Japan, 18th century Ivory. H. 2.8 cm. The netsuke is carved as an open-mouthed shishi sitting on its hind legs, holding a large ball with its paw. With traces of age and use, partially cracked, with minor damage on one paw. CITES marketing certificate is available. Please note that due to the current CITES regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell objects, unrestricted trade is only permitted within the European Community. An export license is required for shipment to third countries. Please inform yourself about the current import regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell in your country. It is currently not possible to export ivory to the USA, Canada or England. This item is not legal to sell in the UK.
