Description
A SILK AND METAL THREADS EMBROIDERED FELT NECHUNG ORACKLE HAT WITH CARVED BONE ELEMENTS China (Tibet), 19th/20th century Silk/metal/fur/bone. H. ca. 27 cm. The hat is embroidered with silk and metal thread in gold and silver on a fur ground and applicated with five bone carved leaves depicting skulls, separated by flowers. With traces of use, partially damaged. Provenance: From a private collection in Tyrol, acquired directly from Sangha from Tibet in the second half of the 20th century.
