Description
AN IVORY CARVED NETSUKE OF OKAME WITH ONI Japan, 19th century Ivory. H. 5.8 cm. The netsuke is carved as Okame throwing beans to exorcise the oni behind her, signed on the bottom "Masanao". With traces of use and age, partially chipped and cracked. This lot contains elephant ivory and is therefore subject to CITES regulations with restrictions on imports or exports. It is a buyer's responsibility to obtain any export or import licences, certifications and any other required documentation. Certificate for intra-EU trade is issued. Provenance: From a private collection in Rhineland.
