Description
AN IVORY CARVED NETSUKE OF A TARTAR ACHER (DATTANJIN) Japan, 18th/19th century Ivory. H. 8.7 cm. The netsuke is carved as a standing Tartar archer (Dattanjin), wearing an elaborately patterned robe and carrying a quiver of arrows on his back. He holds a rope in both hands, with a round shield hanging from his waist. His head is turned up and sideways. With traces of age and use, partially cracked, feet are missing. CITES marketing certificate is available. Please note that due to the current CITES regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell objects, unrestricted trade is only permitted within the European Community. An export license is required for shipment to third countries. Please inform yourself about the current import regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell in your country. It is currently not possible to export ivory to the USA, Canada or England. This item is not legal to sell in the UK.
