EIN GESCHNITZTER OKIMONO MIT EINER FIGURENGRUPPE AUS ELFENBEIN

AN IVORY CARVED OKIMONO OF A GROUP OF FIGURES Japan, 19th/20th century Ivory. H. 13.5 cm (15.3 cm with base). The okimono is carved as a Oiwa emerging from a skull, with three men struggling on the ground, their faces contorted in agony. On the ground beside the Oiwa, the inscription "Namo Amitabha" is visible. There is a signature on the bottom. With traces of use and age, partially abraded and damaged. CITES marketing certificate is available. Please note that due to the current CITES regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell objects, unrestricted trade is only permitted within the European Community.
