Description
AN IVORY CARVED OKIMONO OF A GROUP OF FIGURES Japan, 19th/20th century Ivory. H. 13.5 cm (15.3 cm with base). The okimono is carved as a Oiwa emerging from a skull, with three men struggling on the ground, their faces contorted in agony. On the ground beside the Oiwa, the inscription "Namo Amitabha" is visible. There is a signature on the bottom. With traces of use and age, partially abraded and damaged. CITES marketing certificate is available. Please note that due to the current CITES regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell objects, unrestricted trade is only permitted within the European Community. An export license is required for shipment to third countries. Please inform yourself about the current import regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell in your country. It is currently not possible to export ivory to the USA, Canada or England. This item is not legal to sell in the UK.
