EIN FEINES NETSUKE EINER SCHLANGE UND EINES VOGELS AUS HOLZ

A FINE WOOD NETSUKE OF A SNAKE AND A BIRD Japan, 19th century Wood. H. 3.8 cm. The netsuke is finely carved as a snake coiled around an eggshell, nibbling on a leaf. The underside of the eggshell is intricately carved with the head of a small bird. Signed 'Einen' on the eggshell. With traces of age and use.
