A FINE WOOD CARVED NETSUKE OF A NIO GUARDIAN Japan, 19th century Wood. H. 3.7 cm. The netsuke is carved as a Nio guardian mengding a large waraji sandal. With traces of use, minimally abraded. Provenance: From an old private collection in Hesse.
