Description
A FINE WOOD CARVED NETSUKE OF A BLIND BEGGAR Japan, 19th century Wood. H. 3.9 cm. The netsuke is carved as a blind beggar with one inlaid eye crouching on the ground and trying to lift his huge scrotum, signed "Minko" with kao on the bottom. With traces of age and use. Provenance: From the important collection of the Chemnitz entrepreneur and manufacturer Fritz Niescher (1889-1974).
