Description
A FINE IVORY CARVED NETSUKE OF A SHISHI WITH A BALL Japan, 18th/19th century Ivory. H. 3.3 cm. The netsuke is carved as a creature sitting on its hind legs, holding a large ball with his paws. It has a movable ball in its open mouth, with the strands of its mane and beard curling into spirals. The patterns of its spine are visible on its back. With traces of age and use, partially cracked. CITES marketing certificate is available. Please note that due to the current CITES regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell objects, unrestricted trade is only permitted within the European Community. An export license is required for shipment to third countries. Please inform yourself about the current import regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell in your country. It is currently not possible to export ivory to the USA, Canada or England. This item is not legal to sell in the UK.
