KATSUKAWA SHUNTEI 1770 - 1820 ASHIKAGA TADAYOSHI Japan Woodblock print. Ca. 38x25 cm. The print depicts Ashikaga Tadayoshi fording the river at Kawanaka-jima on horseback, with another mounted warrior beyond. Signed "Katsu Shuntei ga", and published by Izumiya Ichibei of Kansendo (Izumi-Ichi-han, Kansendo). With traces of age, slightly damaged and stained. Provenance: From an old private collection in North Rhine-Westphalia, acquired in 1974 from the auction house Lempertz.
