COLLECTION OF 25 ANCIENT COINS / SEAL STONE / OMEGA FIBULA Greece and Roman Empire, probably 4th century BC - 3rd century AD Materials include silver, bronze, and carnelian, some cast, some struck. Diameter 0.7 to 2.5 cm. Depictions include: Caracalla (198-217 AD), Roman Emperor; denarius with portrait bust facing right, reverse with standing deity. Julia Maesa (c. 160-224 AD), grandmother of Elagabalus, denarius with drapery and imperial portrait. Trajan (98-117 AD), Roman Emperor; Silver denarius with raised lettering, partly with traces of silvery sheen. Septimius Severus (193-211 AD), drachma from Euboea; finely executed bust of the emperor, reverse with legend and standing Tyche. Troas, Cebren (c. 400-350 BC), bronze coin of the Classical period, depicting a lion's head and a quadratum incusum on the reverse. Carnelian seal, Late Roman, end of the 3rd century AD, with a fine relief carving of a standing figure, probably Hermes. Omega fibula, with a rounded bow and spirally wound ends, pin holder preserved on the reverse. Partially bumped.
