GERMAN-FRENCH SCHOOL, CIRCA 1800 SUPRAPORTE WITH THE ALLEGORY OF MUSIC, PAINTING, AND LITERATURE Oil on canvas (segment-arched and rectangular polygonal closure at the sides). 122 x 35.5 cm (F. 135 x 84 cm). Baroque frame, carved wood with partial gilding. Powerfully curved silhouette with rich acanthus volutes, maskaron-like consoles and a crowning coat of arms beneath an angel's head. Representative, sculpturally formed work of high-quality carving with a sacred character. Some slight scratch marks, dirty surface, min. old rest. Provenance: Private collection, Rhineland.
