Verso: Various old paper labels, including: Christie's sale 23 March 1907, lot 133, further "MIERIS A CAVALIER AT A WINDOW", old Christie's auction number: "462 BE". Inscribed on the panel in old script: "Fransis de Mieris" and more. Old bourgeois heraldic quartered wax seal (uninterpreted). Partially preserved old frame. An almost identical self-portrait by Mieris is now in an American private collection (cf.
