GOVERT (ALSO GOVAERT) FLINCK OR WORKSHOP 25 January 1615 Kleve - 2 February 1660 Amsterdam PORTRAIT OF A DISTINGUISHED YOUNG LADY HOLDING GRAPES IN HER RIGHT HAND Oil on oak panel (cradled). 54 x 43.5 cm (F. 76 x 64 cm) (high oval). Verso: Inscription on the reverse: "Govert Flinck - Eléve de Rembrandt - ne en 1615 - mort en 1660". Minor old rest., slight old retouching. Probably original hand-carved frame from the 17th/18th century. The physiognomy of the "Young Lady with Grapes" offered here appears to be identical to that in Govert Flinck's painting "Portrait of a Lady", which is kept at the Museum of Art in Raleigh, North Carolina.
